Becoming a Taco Bell franchisee partner is seen as a long-term commitment and as such Taco Bell is looking for partners who embody their mindset and understand their place in the fast-food market. The Taco Bell application journey is a thorough and carefully thought-out process. As such becoming a Taco Bell franchise partner is much harder than some of the other franchises on the market.
To get started, applicants are required to submit an evaluation to Taco Bell directly from their website. The ideal applicant has an entrepreneurial aptitude, a track record of achievement in owning or managing a business, and restaurant experience is a must for all candidates.
Under Taco Bell's parent company, Yum! Brands Inc. Taco Bell is part of a family of fast food powerhouses that include both KFC and Pizza Hut. You can be sure that the support you receive will be the latest and the greatest in franchising thanks to the global reach and always-evolving menu items under the Yum! Brands umbrella.
Taco Bell is continuously producing new menu items both for limited-time selections and permanent menu items to maintain its loyal customer base. Furthermore, Taco Bell provides many different options of locations, from more traditional restaurant locations to Power Pumpers: Buildings with several traditional features that also share a facility with a gas or convenience store.
The Taco Bell team also assists with every aspect of setting up your restaurant, including site selection, lease negotiation, design and development, and pre-opening marketing. In Canada, they also provide help through the UPGC (United Purchasing Group of Canada), which is located at the Taco Bell Restaurant Support Center. They can help with standards and specifications regarding furnishings, equipment and approved suppliers.
The support and partnerships opportunities that Taco Bell provides helps build and sustain strong relationships with franchisees and as such, they are constantly ranked as one of the best franchise opportunities.
Taco Bell looks for candidates who are both financially prepared and aligned with the values that they hold.
Restaurant experience is required for all candidates that will be looking to start a new partnership with Taco Bell. If you have experience running another type of business including working with employees and customers, managing finances and leading teams, this will also greatly help with your evaluation. Taco Bell has a complete training program and manuals as well as field operational staff that can help you learn this business as well as provide ongoing world-class support. Taco Bell has very aggressive development goals over the coming years and as such Taco Bell’s focus is recruiting only area developer franchisees who can build and manage multiple Taco Bell units.
Once you meet the above requirements, Taco Bell will be able to help you further develop in the following areas:
• Facility planning on-site location and architectural design
• Specifications for fixtures, equipment, and leasehold improvements
• Assistance in site selection and lease negotiation
• Staff training guidelines and best practices
• Kitchen/Back of the House Workflow design
• Ongoing support from members of the Training and Operations Team
• Ongoing updates for increasing profitability
• Products with high industry demand
• Efficiency in all systems
• Favourable contracts with suppliers of goods and services
• Leading marketing support
